TURBINE ROTOR INSPECTION AND REPAIRS
1. Runout and dimensional checks.
2. Grind journals, thrust runners or seal areas.
3. Machine eroded or damaged areas; offset machine bowed rotors.
4. Machine for modification and/or clearance specs.
5. Remove wheels and other shrunk on parts for repair.
6. Line bore coupling bolt holes and machine rabbet fits.
7. Machine/grind coupling bolts for proper fit.
8. Balance check and weight correction.
B. BLADE/BUCKET
REPLACEMENT OR REPAIR
1. Remove worn blades, fit, machine and
install new blades.
2. Punch, fit, peen and machine covers/shrouds.
3. Repair crack indications, erosion, or physical damage.
4. Replace worn stellite erosion shields with new.
5. Replace covers/shrouds and machine.
6. Reweld tenons, recontour and fit to new shrouds.
C. NOZZLE
AND DIAPHRAGM REPAIRS
1. Reweld and grind partitions/vanes and
sidewalls to restore nozzle area, contour, edge thickness
and finish to improve unit efficiency.
2. Repair worn spill strip fits, integral seals, horizontal
joints, packing bores, bridges, seal fits, support blocks,
threaded holes and keyways.
3. Stress relieve heat treat as required.
4. Record dimensional data for future evaluation.
D. CASING
AND SHELL REPAIRS
1. Machine eroded seal fits; weld, or install
inserts and remachine to proper size.
2. Replace inserted seal strips with new parts and machine
for correct clearance.
3. Repair cracks, joint erosion, ledge damage, out-of-roundness,
distortion by welding and/or machining.
4. Repair keyways, bolting holes, nozzle faces and other critical
surfaces.
5. Weld repair turbine case and stress relief
E. SEAL REPLACEMENT
1. Remove old and install new spill strips,
packing rings, J strips, oil deflector teeth and axial and
radial seals. Machine as required for correct clearance.
F. ON SITE
MACHINING WITH PORTABLE TOOLING
1. Line boring, milling, grinding, facing,
single point tooling and threading at the job site with portable
tooling.
2. Rotor machining.
3. Journal machining/grinding
4. Valve machining, flange facing, hole boring and stud removal
by machining.
G. TURBINE

1. Diaphragm and steam packing rings.
2. Spill strips, J strips and other radial and axial seals.
3. Joint hardware (studs, bolts, nuts, washers, etc.)
